Over one lac pilgrims visited holy shrine of Mata Pingla Devi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Oct 18: In a closing valedictory function attended by thousand of devotees, the nine day long Navratra Festival at Ramnagar came to an end with mesmerizing performance by various artists and presentation of annual Akhand Jyoti awards at the historic Maa Pingla Devi Ji chabutra Ramnagar. MLA.Harsh Dev Singh was the chief guest on the occasion while ex. MLA Mr. Ashok Sharma was the guest of honour. Among others present were sub divisional Magistrate Dudu-Basantgarh,.Amit Sharma, Tehsildar Ramnagar Sanjeev Sharma, chairman Akhand Jyoti Committee Rajiv Jandial, organizer AJC. The main event was final of the dance completion in which the Ist prize was claimed by Pratiksha Gupta while the runner up was the Avantika Vats. The 2nd runner up in event was jointly bagged by Satikshi Sharma, Ocean Kharka and Slaoni Thakur . Chief guest Harsh Dev Singh extended his greetings to the people on holy Navratras and prayed for peace and communal harmony in the state and country. He appreciated the efforts of management of Navratra Festival especially the local people for holding the event in a smooth way. He also lauded the role of founder of committee Late sh. OP Jandial who started Mata Pingla Devi Yatra way back in the year 1987. During these Navratras over one lac pilgrims paid their obeisance in the holy cave shrine of Mata Pingla Devi. Hash Dev Singh and Ashok Sharma gave away the 5th annual OP Jandial Memorial Award to JK Society for youth and masses for rehabilitation of drug addicts.
