JAMMU, Oct 18: Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA) today held a review meeting on web-based ‘Pensioners’ Portal.
The portal is a mission mode project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) launched by Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare since the year 2009-10. Under this Project, CGPWA has been serving the central pensioners in matters of their pension dues, refixation of pension as per Sixth CPC recommendations, pension arrears, timely release of Dearness Relief (DR) and other related matters.
The services of the association are available to not only the registered members numbering nearly one hundred, but also to a large number of pensioners not registered with CGPWA. An impressive number of cases have been resolved through the efforts of the Association by implementing the norms under the project of NeGP.
However, it is felt that a considerable number of pensioners, especially those residing in far off areas, are still not able to utilize the services being rendered by CGPWA. In this connection, a wider publicity network is needed. Aggrieved central pensioners may approach CGPWA office located at Jammu Olympic Association Parade Ground Jammu for any help they require in redressal of their grievances.
