Winning start for J&K Bank in Durand Cup | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, October 18: Jammu and Kashmir Bank made a winning start in the 123rd edition of Durand Cup Football Tournament that kicked-off yesterday with the qualifiers playing in the first round at Delhi. In the opening tie, J&K Bank defeated Indian Navy Mumbai by a solitary goal. Bilal Ahmad scored the all important goal netting the ball in the 83rd minute, reports reaching here informed. The winner of each group will qualify for the quarterfinals league round to be played from October 27. Top teams of the country like East Bengal, Churchil Brothers, Air India, Mohun Bagan and J&K Bank are all set to witness a tough fight in the tournament. Meanwhile, the sports board of the bank complimented the team for making it a winning start. Describing the win a great begining, Mohammad Amin Khan, member sports board hoped that the team will perform well in the next game scheduled to be held on October 21 against MEG Bangalore.
