Jamiat-e-Ahli-Hadit has its roots in Pak: Prof Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 18: Sharply reacting to the criticism of the BJP by some fundamentalists and their dubious supporters for objecting to the adoption of some of the bills including the controversial Trans world Muslim University, the leader of BJP Legislature Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that being nationalist it is the duty of every Legislator to pay his due attention to every piece of legislation. Secondly, Prof Gupta said, besides some others, this bill needed many clarifications as the proposed University is to be headed by a non-government organization known as Jamiat-e-Ahli-Hadit, which is having its units in different countries including main one in Pakistan. Whether this body in Pakistan is not only a religious one but also an important political outfit having several members of the Assembly in that country and it forms part of the Muttihida- Majlis-e-Amal too. Moreover, this religious body also follows the Wahhabi out look having number of Madarssas of Salfia teachings. Whether this body is not being guided by the Talibans and some others with similar outlook which is dominant in Waziristaan and several areas in Afghanistan? Moreover, the sources of funding to this University as also the other such educational institutions would be made clear and who would take the guarantee that these funds would not be misused for Hawala purposes. BJP leader said all these issues needed a deep look in the gambit, especially when the Valley of Kashmir is already faced with the cross-border terror and now mob-terrorism having their roots somewhere else outside the country. He asserted that such clarifications are all the more essential when the Vale of Kashmir, which was at one time known for pluralism and tolerance, has already become a land of intolerance and from where lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities, have been forced out to become refugees within their own country but for religious fanaticism. As far as the NC is concerned, its role had always been under question because of this body being genetically communal and sectarian, the BJP leader asserted. However, it is good that in the Upper House certain members have felt the need for having another look into the bills adopted by the Assembly in a row, he added and hoped that the State Governor as also the Centre would also pay their urgent attention about such bills before they are passed.
