| 12 FIRs Stand Registered Against Qasim: IGP | | | Srinager Oct 30 The Al-Badr militant Mohammed Ali Hussian alias Qasim, S/o Abdul Aziz resident of Mohalla Tanki Manshara, Pakistan, that was arrested by Karnataka Police from Mysore yesterday is sought in 12 different cases in Kashmir. The militant had masterminded a series of grenade attacks in Kashmir valley in the recent past will also be interrogated by the sleuths of J&K Police soon.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir, S M Sahai, said that the militant was using many names like Jehangir, Wasem, Afghan, Asif Khan, Zahre, Qasim and carried on his activities in the suburbs of Srinagar city and Harwan area. The IGP said that as many as 12 cases under sections 302, 364, 341, 323, 307 RPC and 7/25 Arms Act have been registered in various police stations of district Srinagar against the arrested militant. In a statement he said the arrested militant killed Mohammad Yousuf Khatana resident of Daradkore, Mohammad Yousuf Hajam resident of Gandtal, ASI Abdul Rahim Sofi son of Abdul Salam, his son Gowher Ali Sofi resident of Newthead, Shabir Ahmad Awan son of Ghulam Mohammad Awan resident of Faqir Gogree, Ghulam Qadir Paswal son of Kaleem Paswal resident of Daradkore, Mohammad Rafiq Awan son of Ghulam Mohammad Awan, Mukhtar Awan son of Ghulam Mohammad Awan resident of Astan Margi, Mohammad Aslam Awan son of Kaloo Awan resident of Faqir Gojree, Mushtaq Bijran and Shabir Bijran sons of Mohammad Ismail Bijran resident of Mulyar and a police constable namely Abdul Majid Khan, his brother Aziz Khan and his father Mutwali Khan. The militant inflicted serious injuries to many civilian which included some females also, statement said. |
