Youth held for fraud | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 18: A youth, who deceived his recruiters by producing fake documents to become a police cop, landed in police lockup today after he was found guilty of the fraud. On December 31, 2007, on-spot recruitment drive for cops was conducted by police department at Bimal Nag Saroor in Kishtwar. In the drive, Hashim Din, son of Mohammad Sanyee of Darsoo, Saroor, was provisionally approved for his appointment as constable in executive police. While finalising the appointment process, the requisite verification of the documents, including 10th class marks sheet and diploma issued under roll No 732158 (session 2003, bi-annual) and marks sheet of 10+2 under roll No 723783 (session 2006, annual), was got conducted from the joint secretary (certificates) of the J&K board of school education, Jammu Division, according to police sources. The verification report revealed that the particulars of the candidate did not match with the board records. As per the records, one Arpana Devi, daughter of Padarath Chand, had appeared under roll No 732158 (session 2003, bi-annual) of 10th class and declared pass in second grade. Similarly, under roll No 723783 of class 10+2 (session 2006, annual one Banjay Devi, daughter of Kunj Lal had appeared, the sources added. In this connection, a criminal case under FIR No 117 of 2010 under sections 420, 468 and 471 of RPC was registered against the accused at the Kishtwar police station.
