| Diksha enters sub-junior girls’ singles final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, October 19: Diksha Mahajan today sailed into the final of sub-junior girls’ singles event in the ongoing 37th State Badminton Championship under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In the semi-final, played today, she defeated Akanksha in straight sets 21-11 21-08. Diksha has also made it into the final of sub-junior girls’ doubles event. Pairing with Akanksha, they defeated the duo of Mitali and Sapna 21-11, 21-12.
Now, Diksha and Akanksha shall take on the duo of Tanjula and Gagandeep in the doubles final. Earlier, in another semi-final, Tanjula and Gagandeep beat Mitakshra and Subhagani 21-15, 21-09.
Meanwhile, Naman clinched the Midget Girls singles title outplaying Peehushi in straight sets 21-12, 22-20.
In mini boys singles, D S Shivam reached the final beating Akhil Khajuria 21-10 22-21, 21-09.
