EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 19: Sahil Ohri and Pushkin Kainth both from the Institute of Music of Fine Arts, Jammu, were adjudged first and second respectively in On the Spot Paining Competition, conducted by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, under the on going “Display Your Talent”. Kanwar Iqbal from Govt. Medical College, Jammu, had to remain satisfied with the Third prize. Shivali Rani from the Department of Environmental Sciences, Trishla Kumari from the Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Ramesh Kumar form Govt. S.P.M.R College of Commerce was awarded the certificates of merit. The participants prepared beautiful paintings using water, poster, pastel and acrylic colours. Topics for the painting competition were “Winter/Spring Season”, “Village Fair” and “Still Life”. Noted artists Bhushan Kesar, Suman Gupta and Vijay Anand, were the adjudicators to assess the performance of the participants. The competition was conducted under the supervision of Sanjay Sharma, teacher incharge. The participating teams included Govt. Degree College, Doda, Govt. Degree College, Chatroo, Govt. Degree College (Boys), Udhampur, Govt. Women College, Parade, Govt. Women College, Udhampur, Govt. Degree College, Kishtwar, Trikuta Degree College, GGM Science College (Evening), Govt. Degree College, Reasi, Govt. Degree College, R.S. Pura, Govt. Degree College, Samba, JK College of Education, JK College of BBA, Ramnagar Campus, Govt. Degree College, Hira Nagar, The School of Biotechnology, JU, Department of Commerce, JU, The Business School, JU, Department of Sociology, JU, Department of Computer Science & I.T, JU and Department of Lib. & Inf. Science, JU, . Prof. Kuldeep. K. Sharma, Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Among others Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Versha Mehta, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee and Gagandeep Sharma, Secretary, Students Cultural Council.
