| BMS hails Govt for amendment in labour laws | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 19: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Jammu and Kashmir held a meeting of office-bearers under the chairmanship of N.K Gupta, working president today. The Sangh members welcomed the state government for making amendments in various labour laws and thanked the Minister for Labour and Employment and Higher Education also commissioner secretary Labour and Employment for taking keen interest for the welfare of poor working class in the state as with these amendments, thousands of teachers working in private schools and sale, promotion employees/ representative will be benefited by declaring them as workman. BMC, further, demanded from the Minister for Labour and Employment to take stern action against the exploitation of workers engaged by the factories through the so called securities agencies/ man power placement agencies and labour contractors, as the workers employed through them are not covered under ESI scheme and PF and they work for 12 hours without any overtime/ weekly rest nor proper records of the workers are maintained under different labour laws and labour department was not serious in this matter. In the meeting, senior leader NK Gupta working president, general secretary Harbans Chodhary, Ishfaq Ahmed Chouhan, Channan Singh, vice president were present in the meeting.
