Kashmiri pandits dismayed over Omar’s statement | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 19: Kashmiri Pandits, people of Jammu and Ladakh are shocked and dismayed over the recent controversy raked about the accession of the state with union of India by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the endorsement of his stand by foreign minister as well as the union home minister is misplaced and atrocious. This was stated in a handout issued by Panun Kashmir after first meeting of newly elected office bearers of Panun Kashmir presided over by its President Vijay Bhat Koutse came to an end. According to handout, Panun Kashmir convener Dr. Agnishekhar congratulated the office bearers and impressed upon them about the enormous responsibilities that they have to shoulder in the coming days. Speaking on the occasion, President Panun Kashmir Vijay Bhat Koutse said that polity of Kashmir is catering to agenda of separatists whose aim is to exclude Jammu and Kashmir from constitutional and territorial organization of India. It added that accession of the state is final and irreversible and any attempts to weaken or reverse it will be fought tooth and nail. PK National spokesman Kamal Hak unfolded the calendar of series of programs Panun Kashmir is going to undertake in the near future. In this context, Panun Kashmir will be holding a program in Jammu on October 26, 2010; the day marks ‘Prayaan Divas’ of Pandit Kripa Ram Dutt which incidentally coincides with the accession day of J&K state with Union of India. Program will be attended by eminent leaders of Jammu, Ladakh and other distinguished personalities. It was on October 26, 1675 that Pandit Kripa Ram Dutt of Kashmir led a historic delegation of 500 Kashmiri Pandits to Guru Tegh Bahadur at Anandpur Sahib to seek his intervention against the persecution and genocide of Kashmiri Hindus unleashed by infamous Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. National Coordinator NCR Delhi Rajender Kaul informed the office bearers about the series of programmes to be undertaken by chairman Political Affairs committee Prof M L Raina in coming days at various places in USA.
