JJSF holds protest against discrimination by J&K govt

JAMMU, Oct 19: Jammu Joint students Federation (JJSF) today held series of protest demonstrations across Jammu city against alleged discriminatory attitude of the state government.
Protests were staged in MAM PG College, GGM Science College, GDC Paloura, SPMR College of commerce and GGM evening college. Earlier in the morning, students of MAM PG College boycotted their classes and held protests under the leadership of JP Singh and Dilbag Singh. After boycotting their classes, students gathered in the college premises and raised slogans against state and central government for playing with sentiments of people of Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Thakur Varinder Singh said that after series of protests by students, a separate central university was sanctioned for Jammu but till date whereabouts of the same are not known. In GGM Science College, students boycotted their classes. The protest was lead by Sanjay Sharma and Mohammed Arif.
In SPMR College of commerce, protest was led by Vishal Sadotra, Rahul Sharma and Vikram Partam Singh. In the college, students were addressed by Amandeep Singh. In GDC Paloura, protest was led by Rawat Manhas and Sumit Gupta. This protest was also in the evening college of GGM Science College. The protest was led Mohammed Ashraf and Tushar Raina.
Vice-President of JJSF Partap singh Jamwal said that union government has restarted process for appointment of vice-chancellor of CU. He warned state as well as central government against delaying appointment of vice-chancellor. Students of GCET also protested against college administration. The protests were led by Sanjay Sharma. Other who were present included Aamir, jyoti Choudhary, Yogesh Talwar, Rahul Sharma, Jatti Singh,Vishal Bhat, Parveen, prince Sharma and Rahul Gahi.
