| Kishtwar, Udhampur win U-19 kho-kho titles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 20: Kishtwar boys and Udhampur girls clinched the under-19 kho-kho titles in the inter-district divisional level tournament held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Green Field grounds, here today.
In boys final, Kishtwar defeated host Jammu district by a margin of eight (15-07) points. From Kishtwar, skipper, Rahul Kumar played a key role in his team’s victory. He consumed most of the time while defending and remained unbeaten in both the innings.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Jammu defeated district Doda by a narrow margin of one (06-05) point while Kishtwar outplayed Udhampur by five (15-07) points.
The girls’ under-19 kho-kho trophy went to district Udhampur after they beat their counterparts from Rajouri 7-2 in the final. In the semi-finals, played in the morning session, Udhampur trounced district Samba 04-03 while Rajouri beat Kathua 10-01.
In the finals and prize distribution function, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies.
