Pensioners seek redressal of demands

KATHUA, Oct 20: Pensioners staged Dharna to highlight their long pending genuine demands under the banner of All Pensioners Association at Shaheed Bhagat Sing Park here today.
They were led by Balak Ram Sharma. While addressing pensioners on Dharna, senior most leader of the association Balak Ram Sharma lambasted Jammu and Kashmir government for delaying due share of the pensioners. He said that pensioners are demanding release of arrears of sixth pay commission, 10 percent DA installment, increasing health allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs.1000, reduction of commutation amount from 15 to 12 years and release of pending installment at 6 percent of DA. To support Dharna, senior most leaders of the low paid employees association Kabala Singh and Abdul Majid Wani also joined Dharna.
