| NSF protests over delay in functioning of CU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 20: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest against the Centre Govt for delay in functioning of Central University Jammu.
The protesters burnt the effigy of HRD Minister Kapil Sibal and demanded local academician as Vice Chancellor of CU-J.
The NSF State President Vikas Sharma said that Jammu and Ladakh have been ignored by the UPA-govt since it came into power and they have been caring too much about Kashmir by granting them special political and economic packages.
Sharma also said that other universities in the state were having local VC and same should be with the Central university of Jammu. ‘If the HRD ministry fails in appointing local VC to the Central University of Jammu, then they will once again launch a mass agitation’, he said.
Among those who participated in the protest were Mohd. Maqeem Ansari, Rohit Sharma, Surjit Chowdhary, Ravi Chowdhary, Gurpreet Singh, Narinder Singh, Rahul Sharma, Ankit, Kamaldeep Singh, Mallik, Sanjay, Rakesh, Javed, Manjit, Raj Sudhan and others.
