| Panthers student union to launch campaign against ‘drug abuse’ | | |
JAMMU | OCT 30 Panthers Student Union has decided to launch a provincial campaign against, ‘Drug Abuse Among Youth’ from November 1st. addressing a press conference her today MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia and incharge Panthers students union said that there have been reports of wide spread drug abuse among the youth and a number of families have been suffering due to use of drugs by their beloved ones. He said many families have approached them with the problem of drug abuse among the youth. He said I was given the responsibility students union recently and after holding discussions with the youth and students leaders we have chalked out a detailed programme to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse”, said Mankotia. He said that during this campaign activists would try to reach every student ranging from High School to college and University level. Pantehrs student union would be launching this campaign from Udhampur on Nov. 1 with a number of programmes in different schools and after imparting knowledge about eh menace of drugs, youth would asked to pledge that they would not use drugs. Beside rallies, seminars, debates, painting competition, symposia etc. would be organized to spread the awareness about menace of drugs among youth. Mankotia said that Jammu and Kashmir State has been target of a proxy war for last more than 17 years and the drugs have become handy in this war against our country. The neighbouring country is pumping drugs to target the youth in the country especially Jammu and Kashmir.
