| Vikram bags men’s singles title in badminton | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 21: Beating his younger brother, Vipul Saini in easy straight sets 21-06, 21-07, Vikram Saini today clinched the men’s singles title in the 37th State Badminton Championship held at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
The doubles title went to the pair of Rahul Sharma and Avnish beating Vikram and Vipul 2-1.
Earlier, in veteran singles final, Romesh Kumar Sharma defeated Balbir Jamwal in straight sets. In veteran doubles, the pair of Raju Chawla and Verma registered a straight set win over Romesh and Ashish.
In the finals and prize distribution function, Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. Prominent among others present were Member Legislative Council, Jahangir Mir and president J&K Badminton Association, Sudershan Wazir.
