| LIC organizes seminar on social security | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 21: The Pension & Group Schemes (P&GS) Unit of LIC of India held a seminar on Janashree Bima Yojana under the banner of Social Security month today. The focus of the Seminar was Janashree Bima Yojana for handicraft Artisans which provides insurance cover at a very low cost.
V. K. Mahajan from Ministry of Textiles was the chief guest on the occasion who explained the benefits being provided through these schemes to the Artisans.
Prominent NGOs and Officials of Ministry of Textiles Department attended the seminar.
In his welcome address, Br. Manager (P&GS), Mr. Chaitanya Sharma highlighted the benefits of the Scheme and called upon the NGOs affiliated to the Ministry of Textiles Departments to generate awareness about these schemes.
Mr. Mahajan exhorted all NGOs to work with zeal, dedication with transparency and accountable. A very healthy interaction was observed during the course of the deliberations of the seminar and participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm toward the various aspects of the schemes and assured that they will work for the upliftment of the deserving artisans of the state.
