Natrang on Peace mission, reaches Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Oct 22: A new history was created in Kishtwar when internationally acclaimed theatre group “Natrang” performed its plays at historic Chowgaan ground of Kishtwar town in an audience of over ten thousand people. Balwant Thakur and his Natrang team of actors, technicians, and publicity managers are on a peace mission to this far-off region of J&K. On Thursday, the group performed its show at Thathri in district Doda. People from around twenty adjoining villages watched the play. Natrang director Balwant Thakur while addressing the gathering said that theatre is one of the most effective medium of public motivation and can address public issues in a much effective manner. Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar G.R. Bhagat was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Programme started with the staging of much acclaimed Dogri play ‘Gatt’ which symbolizes decay of human relations. This was followed by the performance of the play ‘Choona Ha Aasmaan’, which Balwant Thakur has exclusively created to address the issues relating to the disturbances in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The play underlines the importance of peace for the prosperity and development of the state. Natrang actors who participated in the play included Dimple Sharma, Pankush Verma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Tajasvi Sharma, Rahul Singh, Rajani Bhatti, Vikram Sharma, Divya Kohli, Vasu Gupta. and Kuldeep Mehra. Neeraj Kant was the assistant director of the play and Sartaj Singh was the production manager. Public relations team was headed by Sumeet Sharma while the technical team was headed by Shummy Kalotra. Later, Natrang Director was honored by District administration with a citation and a momento for his contribution in promoting cause of peace through theatre. The show was coordinated by Rajesh Thakur.
