Curfew continues in parts of Srinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 22 : Curfew continued in parts of Srinagar for the second day today while similar restrictions had been imposed in nine other towns in north and south Kashmir as a precautionary measure following 'Bijbehara chalo,' call given by the breakaway Hurriyat conference (HC) today. Elsewhere in the Kashmir valley, life remained paralysed due to strike call by the HC. A police spokesman said here today that curfew restrictions continued in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of five police stations in North Zone of Srinagar city. He said the curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure, adding people have been advised not to violate the restriction and were asked to cooperate with the administration. In view of the 'Bijbehara chalo' call, curfew restrictions were imposed in Anantnag, Bijbehara and Shopian towns. He said curfew has also been imposed in Trehgam, Kralpora, Kupwara, Chotipora, Kulangam and Handwara towns in north Kashmir as a precautionary measure. There was no curfew in other parts of the Kashmir valley, the spokesman added.
