| Vaishnodevi pilgrim dies in landslide | | | KATRA: A Vaishnodevi pilgrim died at Himkoti en route the holy cave shrine of the goddess today after she was hit by earth and a heavy stone that came sliding down the hill.
The dead was identified as Ila Sarkar (50), wife of Tapan Sarkar of Kolkata.
The incident took place at Himkoti while she was on her way back to Katra after having darshans of the goddess, police sources said. The body was later evacuated by police to the Katra hospital. After post-mortem, it was handed over to her family members for last rites. |
