| NSI celebrates ‘World Thrift Day’ | | | JAMMU OCT-30- NATIONAL Savings Institute (NSI) of Union Ministry of Finance celebrated ‘World Thrift Day’ here today. A symposium on the topic ‘ Importance of Savings’ was organized at Government Girls High School Kachi Chawni where Zonal Education Officer Jammu Subash Sharma was the Chief Guest. Regional Director National Savings Institute, Chandigarh Gurcharan Singh highlighted the importance of World Thrift Day viz-a-viz role of National Savings in spreading the message of thrift. He said the Institute is going to launch a mass awareness campaign in whole of Jammu and Kashmir State regarding Small Scale schemes. On this occasion, a message from the President of India was also read out. District Savings Officer Jammu Jasbir Singh explained salient features of various small saving schemes. ZEO Subash Sharma lauded the role of NSI in imbibing the habit of thrift amongst the masses and congratulated the students for their impressive performance in the symposium competition. Sonika, Mona and Varsha bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the symposium competition .The winners were given prizes while consolation prizes were given to all other participants.
