Capacity building programme organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 23: With an objective to provide greater financial inclusion to the rural people, J&K Grameen Bank organised one day capacity building programme for branch managers at Head Office, Narwal, Jammu with NABARD financial assistance or support. The programme was inaugurated by M. L. Sukhdeva, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, M.L. Sukhdeva advised the branch managers that many of the farmers and rural house-holds do not have access to institutional credit, there by depriving them an opportunity to take up economic activities. Raja Abdul Lateef, Chairman of the Bank welcomed the chief guest Chief General Manager NABARD. The chairman asked the Branch Managers to initiate all possible steps for greater financial inclusion, The chairman also stressed the branch Managers to extend the Micro-Finance to all the eligible house-holds for having total Financial Inclusion. S.S Nathyal (S&C), Vice President J&K Bank Zonal Office Gurgoan (Haryana) also delivered a thought provoking talk on "Financial Inclusion and role of the Bank". He advised the participants that Financial Inclusion is not an option but is a compulsion for us as many house-holds even do not have a bank account. M.K.Vij also highlighted the role of Financial Inclusion. Others who were attended the function included Sanjay Kumar, Manager NABARD, Regional Office Jammu, A.K.Gupta, Chief of Audit and inspection or other officials of the bank. The vote of thanks were presented by Dr. S.K.Gupta, Nodal Officer of the Programme. |
