Cong spokesperson peeved over loss of standing crops

JAMMU, Oct 23: General Secretary and Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ravinder Sharma has said that there has been huge loss of standing crops especially of paddy in various parts of Rajouri district due to rains and hailstorm.
In a handout issued here today, Sharma has urged the government to assess loss to the farming community and take steps to provide adequate relief to affected people. Sharma has also expressed concern over shortage of fertilizers in Nowshera and Sunderbani tehsils, saying that the farming community is highly agitated since they are likely to suffer heavy losses.
He urged authorities to immediately take steps to provide adequate quantity of fertilizers especially DAP in twin tehsils. Sharma also requested Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to take immediate appropriate action in the matter in both the issues.
