PDP strengthening its base in Ladakh: Bhat | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 23: After having succeeded in carving out areas of influence in across Jammu region, PDP has decided to strengthen its base in Ladakh district. In a handout issued here today, PDP leader Nizam-ud-Din Bhat has said that party fielded four candidates for just concluded LHDC poll and it considers the results a way towards establishing permanent base of PDP in the region. Bhat said that the PDP enjoys support from people in Leh and Kargil districts. In reply to a question he agreed that the PDP wants to establish that it was no longer Kashmir centric party. He said that PDP leadership has framed comprehensive programme for enlisting support of various sections of people in all the 10 districts of the Jammu region. He said after having made some inroads in Poonch, Rajouri and Samba districts, party plans to carry out a campaign for registering peoples' support for the PDP in the districts of Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Jammu. Bhat expressed satisfaction that during last seven years, membership drive of PDP in the Jammu region had shown marked progress. He said that party's attempt is to win more assembly seats from Jammu region in the next elections whenever they are held. |
