JCCI condemns callous, indifferent attitude of J&K govt | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 23: Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has strongly condemned callous and indifferent attitude of state government towards the problems and issues confronting the business community. In a handout issued here today, they have said that Kashmir region has been witnessing curfews and hartals since June 11 thereby putting a spoke on carrying out normal trade activities. They added that due to the ongoing turmoil, huge amount of money of traders and industrialists of Jammu region has got stuck in the valley. Chamber has said that acknowledging the hardships being faced by the traders and industrialists, union government acceded to its request and extended date of filing of Income tax returns and compulsory audit of accounts. However, it has said that oblivious of the hardships being faced by trade and industry as a result of disturbed conditions in the Valley, Jammu and Kashmir government is yet to issue formal orders for extension of date of filing of quarterly Vat returns and Value Added Tax. Chamber has demanded that formal orders for extending date of filing of return be issued without any delay, since the same has been accepted by the Finance Minister in Principal. |
