Power Grid holds cultural festival

Jammu, Oct 23: Emerging artists from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana states, in colorful dresses and colourful presentation marked the annual Intra-Regional Cultural Festival.
The colourful Musical festival & traditional handicrafts exhibition was organized by Northern Region Transmission System-II of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. at Tagore Theater Sector-18 Chandigarh Ashok Khanna, Director, Powergrid was the chief guest on the occasion. Khanna inaugurated the cultural meet by lighting the traditional lamp in presence of large number of guests, Powergrid employees & families.
Earlier S.C.Singh, General Manager(I/C-NRTS-II) inaugurated the handicrafts exhibition in presence of distinguished guests and senior officers of Powergrid. The cultural festival encompassing talent from four northern states swayed the audience to the beats of colorful folk dances and songs highlighting rich composite culture of the region. It was a major event for the employees and their family members as amateur talent of the region had gathered to highlight their cultural traditions.
Items presented on this occasion were Jeevan Ke Anmol Ratan- Beti, Pani Aur Van by Amritsar substation, Tapti Dharti by Kishenpur substation, Jai Jawan- Jai Kisan by Kartarpur substation, Beti Bachao by Bahadrurgarh substation, Ladhka Ladhki Ek Saman presented by Moga substation ,Gungi Bahri Diwaren by Malerkotla Substation, Kanya -Ek Vardan by Hisar substation and Atoot Bandhan presented by the troupe of Regional Office Jammu.
