Kidnapped Ladakhi children to dispatch their home town tomorrow

JAMMU, Oct 23: The 28 children who were allegedly kidnapped by the NGO and put them in a shamble condition in Jammu based rented accommodation at Dogra Hall are being dispatched back to their home town tomorrow. The children were handed over to their parents and General Secretary of Ladakh Buddhist Council PT Kunjuckh who took them to Kargil House near Railway Station Jammu. The children were remained under police custody. Police team also is being dispatched to Leh to drop them safely in their home town.

The children were released from the NGO -Youth Movement for Peace by police after lodging FIR against its five members namely Vikas Sharma, Gagandeep Singh, Ranjana Sharma, Bua David and Sukhdev Massih, all residents of Resham Garh Colony.


The case was registered following complaints by the parents of 28 children who were brought to Jammu by the NGO through alleged fraudulent means.
In their complaints, the parents said the NGO distributed blankets, medicines and clothes among them after the cloud burst on August 6.They alleged that after the completion of their task in Leh, the members of the NGO disappeared from the scene along with the children without informing them.
For the last two months, they were searching for their children in Leh. They said they came to know about the presence of their children in Jammu through media.
On the basis of the complaints, police registered a case under sections 363, 365, 344, 420 and 120-B of RPC against the members of the NGO.

All the members of the NGO were arrested in a late night raid conducted by police in its headquarters at Reshamgarh Colony and Dogra Hall .
Sources said that children were most probably brought here for their conversion to some other religion. The NGO was already in controversy for such alleged acts.

Worth while to mention here that some time back, people had gheroed the Dogra Hall office of the NGO and shouted slogans against its members. The inquiry in this connection was initiated by a police team on the directions of DIG Farooq Khan. During inquiry it was found out that the children were brought to Jammu through fraudulent means.

DC Jammu MK Dewidi when contacted said that the LBC General Secretary contacted him and urged to take the children back to Leh from Jammu as the parents of the children thought that their wards were died in the cloud burst havoc. He further said that all the children are being deported to Leh tomorrow.




Two gangsters of ‘Mohan Chir’ under Channi police custody

Channi Himmat police took two gangsters of Mohan Chir Group to its custody for furnishing legal formalities in connection of case registered with it. Identified as Parveen Kumar son of Des Raj resident of Sarwal,owner of Gym, in the area and Sonal Malhotra alias Toppu son of Chander Mohan resident of Malhoitriyan Gali were involved in shoot out in Channi Himmat. Their companion Sanjay Dogra son of Kastori Lal Dogra resident of New Plot is in Sarwal police custody and will be handed over to Channi Himmat Police soon.

As per police sources on Oct 2009 trio fired on Rajesh Gupta alias Sonu, elder brother of Bakra, with the intention to kill him. For the purpose they took Rs 10 lakh from Deepu but Sonu had narrow escape in the firing incident.

The blind case was solved when Sarwal police arrested five gangsters of Mohan Chir who during interrogation admitted their involvement in Channi Himmat firing incident.

Sources further said that after producing their challan in Channi Himmat incident they would be handed over to the Chowk Chowbutra police as here the trio had their involvement in stealing a motorcycle in the area. The motorcycle (Passasion Plus) was stolen prior to Channi Himmat incident as the vehicle was used to carry out plan,source said.





‘To kill Bakra’s brothers a deal of Rs 10 lakh was done’

Five criminals who were arrested yesterday from city in different raids by police during interrogation disclosed that they took Rs 10 lakh from Deepu at Pathankote to kill two brothers of Bakra-Rajesh Gupta alias Sonu and Sanjeev Gupta alias Boby. The two revolvers which were recovered by police from their possession were managed to them by Deepu at Kathua.


Deepu, a gangster of Billu gang, after committing murder of Bakra three years ago at Trikuta Nagar was absconding. He held a meeting with the five arrested criminals in Pathankote to kill Bakra’s brothers. For the purpose they held a meeting at Sarwal based Gym (power gym) and chalked out plan to kill them. Sanjay Dogra during interrogation confessed that few months ago they also fired at Sanjeev Gupta at Channi Himmat in which he had narrow escape. He also disclosed that in order to divert the attention of police he lodged concocted complaint with the Sarwal police that he was shot at by Vinu Nai at New Plot when he long with his wife was on way.Vinu Nai is another gangster of Bakra group. In the shoot out he had narrow escape, he alleged. As per sources a police team is being dispatched to Kathua to arrest those persons who were instrumentals for managing pistols for them.

Pertinent to mention here that on specific information that a gang war was imminent a police team led by IC PP Sarwal Deepak Pathania conducted a raid in a Sarwal located gym and arrested his owner Parveen Kumar son of Des Raj who during interrogation told the name of other gangsters as Bipan Kumar alias Bunty son of Prem Kumar resident of Prem Nagar, Mohiudin son of Saryad Din resident of Gujjar Nagar, Imran Bhatt son of Mehboob Butt resident of Gujjar Nagar,Sanjay Dogra son of Kastori Lal and Sonu Toppi. Accordingly police conducted raids at their respective residences and arrested them. Two country made pistols (katta) were recovered from their possession.
