Free eye-cum-medical camp organized by Army | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, 24 Oct: An eye-cum-medical camp was organised by the Army under Operation Sadbhavna at village Nagrota Gujroo in Kathua today. The camp was organised by Ek Do Chhey Sada Vijay Air Defence Regiment of North Star AD Brigade in association with Command Hospital, Northern Command and civil administration. The camp was held with a view to provide free medical check up and treatment for eye and other diseases to people residing in remote villages along the Udhampur - Dhar road. Nine Army doctors including three eye specialists and one ENT specialist attended to large number of patients and provided them medical advice, treatment and free medicines. Few cases requiring advanced eye treatment were referred to Army Command Hospital at Udhampur, where they will be provided specialist treatment. During the camp, locals were also imparted awareness about health, hygiene and immunization schemes through a medical exhibition. The arrangements at the medical camp was visited by Brigadier Davis PP, Commander, North Star AD Brigade and he acknowledged the assistance provided by ex-servicemen living in the area led by Brigadier (retired) AS Randwal, J&K Sainik Star Society (an NGO operating in the area for welfare of ex-servicemen ) and Hari Prabhu Ashray, in conduct of the medical camp. |
