| Installation ceremony of Lions club held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 24: Lions of Jammu and Kashmir region organised a installation ceremony of lions club at Jammu here today. Presidents of lions club Jammu Royal, is Bishnah Gaurav, Lions Club Kathua Supreme, Lions Club Gaurav, lions club Vijaypur is Gaurav, Lions Club R.S Pura were installed presidents of their respective clubs. Lion Sanjeev Soni, Deputy District Governor was presiding officer and chairman Installation function. Lions Sanjay Nagpal and Lion Partap Mahajan were master of ceremony of the function. Lion lady Sangeeta Soni sung a devotional song for peace in Jammu and Kashmir state.
Lion Naresh Aggarwal, ex International Director was chief guest on the occasion. Lion J.B Singh Chowdhary was Installation officer. Lion Harish Banga and Lion Prince Verma vice District Governors were guest of honour and Lion Dr.D.S Kalra MJF was star guest. Lion Sanjeev Soni, Deputy Dist. Governor formally welcomed all the guest and thanked Lion Naresh Aggarwal to attend Joint Installation ceremony of Lions of Jammu, while Lion Parneesh Mahajan read secretary report of all the Lions Clubs.
Lion S.L Kapur, ex district governor and Lion Naresh Aggarwal inducted 20 new members in the club .Lion J.B.S Chodwhary installed Lion Neeraj Tandon, Lion Ramesh Gupta, Lion Jagjeet Singh, Lion Rameshwar Singh, Lion Ramesh Singh Salathia and Lion Harish Andotra presidents of their club along with their teams. As per press release Lion, Naresh Aggarwal, Past International Director and board appointee asked all the Lions to increase membership of Lions of Jammu andsaid there are forty five thousand Lions Clubs having approximately 14 lac members in 206 countries of the world and this is the largest NGO in the world . He said a large population of India is deprived of basic amenities like food, clothing and medical help and thanked Lions of Jammu for contributing a lot in these fields. He also appreciated role of Lions Club Jammu Royal for organizing a medical camp where 120 patients were operated for cataract.. He also promised to provide full help for opening a Blood Bank and eye hospital in Jammu. On the occasion International President awards were presented to Lion Sanjeev Soni, Lion Parneesh Mahajan, Lion Sanjay Nagpal, Lion Rajesh Gupta and Lion Ramesh Gupta for their outstanding contribution in Lionism.
