Talks only solution to Kashmir issue: Soz

DAYALACHAK (KATHUA) , Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Prof. Saifuddin Soz (MP) has said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had rejected the two nations theory way back in 1947 under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, when he ratified the instrument of accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh.
Addressing a largely attended Congress rally at Dayalachak near Hiranagar in Kathua district today, Prof. Soz said that the tallest leader of Kashmir of the day Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah had rejected the two nation theory of Mohammad Ali Jinah and opted for a secular India by ratifying the instrument of accession signed by the Maharaja Hari Singh. He said that Sheikh sahib had infact rejected the two nation theory prior to 1947, when he had a meeting with Jinah at the later's residence at Aurangzeb road in Delhi as recorded in his Auto-Biography " Aatish-e-Chinar".
Prof. Soz said this while explaining the Constitutional relationship of the State with Indian Union. He said that the present political imbroglio in the state will be settled through the process of dialogue which has been initiated by the Prime Minister and he hoped that all stake holders would participate in the dialogue.
Referring to the landslide victory of the Congress party in the Ladakh Hill Development Council elections, Prof. Soz said that the results have shown that Congress is strong in all the three regions of the state and it stands guarantee to the unity and integrity of the state. He said that the key to the solution of the Kashmir problem lies in the unity of the State by respecting the urges and aspirations of the people of the three regions of the state.
He also referred to the various issues and demands raised in the rally and said that the ministers present on the occasion would attend to them on priority especially the issues of farmers and refugees. On the issue of Central University in Jammu, he said that he has taken the matter with the central government and the Congress President and the university would become functional soon.

Gani Kohli, D.K.Sharma, Dr. Karan Bhagat, Nirdosh Uppal, Shashi Sharma, Ashwani Puri, Kewel Kaul, Narinder Gupta, Ravi Singh Salathia, Neeraj Gupta, Sanjay Sawhney, Amit Chib, Sandeep Sharma and Kuldeep Mahajan.
