Omar govt failed to control corruption: PDP

Bishnah, Oct 25: Accusing the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah of “immature” to understand the ground realities of the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday alleged the prevailing anarchy was a clear indication that the Chief Minister has not only lost control over the administration but also lost his credulity.
Addressing public meetings at Sangwal and Bari-Brahamana areas, the PDP leaders said that situation in the state has been deteriorating with every passing day and the government seems to be helpless in control it.
He further said the situation has been sliding back to pre 2002 due to wrong policies being pursued by the present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah. “On the one hand, law and order situation has been deteriorating and on the other corruption has been legalized by the government headed by Omar Abdullah. His government has proved as most corrupt and inefficient regime in the state,” they alleged.
They further said that first time in the history of the State that the corruption has been virtually legalized and one and only aims of the Ministers was to remain in power.
They said Omar has failed to take benefit of conducive atmosphere, which was created due to the sincere efforts of previous regime headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
They regretted that instead of consolidation the process of peace, the present regime has miserable spoiled the atmosphere and created sense of insecurity among the common people.
The PDP leaders exhorted the party workers to educate the masses about the misdeeds of this government. “Those running affairs in the present government are not aware of the aspirations of the people”, they said and regretted that miseries of people have been compounding with every passing day due to apathy of the present regime.
“Instead of addressing genuine problems of the masses, the regime is more concerned about befooling the people”, they said and regretted that expect promise this government has done nothing for the people.
Party vice president T S Bajwa, general secretary Thakur Balbir Singh and Hussain Ali Wafe, secretary of the party addressed the gatherings. A large number of people also joined PDP and expressed faith in the PDP policies .
