Skill Development prog starts in JKEDI | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 25 : The five-days Skill Development programme for artisans/entrepreneurs exporters/manufacturers in handicraft trade has been started in Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute campus, Jammu today. This programme has been organised by National Centre Design for Product Development (NCDPD), New Delhi and has been sponsored by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. A total of five such programmes (covering 100 artisans) shall be organised in Jammu, in which a maximum of 20 participants shall be covered in each batch. The basic objective for implementation of this programme is to upgrade the existing skill as well as to add the additional skills to Handicrafts artisans through specialized industry oriented training programme. In addition, this progamme intends to bring change in the mind set to overcome the resistance to change because of lack of knowledge. V. K. Mahajan, Assistant Director, DC (Handicrafts), Jammu & Kashmir was the chief guest at the inaugural function. Ranjan Sharma, EPO, National Centre for Design & Product Development, New Delhi, Course Coordinator Vishal Ray, Assistant Faculty, JKEDI, Tej Krishan Trakroo, Manager (admin) JKEDI, Priyanka Mahajan, Assistant Faculty JKEDI and other official from JKEDI were present on the occasion.
