| Students asked to adopt floriculture commercially | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Oct 25: To educate the students about creating entrepreneurship in floriculture sector, the department of Floriculture in collaboration with Government Degree College for Boys Udhampur organised an awareness camp in the college premises here today.
Joint Director Floriculture, Jammu, . Pran Dullo, Principal Government Degree College, Udhampur, District Officer Floriculture, Udhampur, Assistant Floriculture Officer, participated in the programme.
On the occasion, senior officers of Floriculture Department delivered lectures to aware the student community about the benefits of the Technology Mission, a centrally sponsored scheme, RKVY and National Mission of medicinal plants from which they could motivate their parents or elders to adopt the floriculture crops and diversify their agriculture produce. Students are also asked to make self-help groups for taking maximum benefits out of these schemes.
An interactive session was also organised in which many students raised different queries which were answered by the officers of Floriculture Department.
Second of its kind in J&K, the programme was especially designed for the students for creating self-employment opportunities in commercial floriculture.
