| IGNOU organises book fair of study material | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 25: As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, IGNOU Regional Centre, Jammu organised a book fair or exhibition of study material in collaboration with some of the Partner Institutes under the convergence scheme at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Sh. K K Bhat, Regional Director of the Jammu, Regional Centre and Dr. Nalini Kohli, Principal, Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar inaugurated the event. The Partner Institutes under the convergence Scheme which marked their presence include Lal Bahadur College of Education, Kathua, R M College of Education, Sainik Colony, Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Nardni, Bantalab, Vimal Muni College of Education, Ramgarh and Vishwa Bharti College of Education, Akalpur. Zigma Book Centre, Local outlet of IGNOU authorized Course Material, also displayed various books prescribed as per IGNOU syllabus. The aim of organising such an event was to promote the book culture in students and to inculcate in them the habit of reading and learning through books.
Ashok Braroo, Bharti Gupta and Rakesh Koul of Regional Centre coordinated the event.
Speaking on the occasion,. K K Bhat, Regional Director of the Jammu Regional Centre, highlighted the merits of reading books and appreciated the participants for their active participation in the event. Dr. Indrani Lahiri, Asstt. Regional Director thanked the Principal Women College, Gandhi Nagar for the cooperation in making the event a success and appreciated the Regional Centre staff for their valuable effort in organizing such an event of great importance for benefit of the student community.
