RD ministry team visits Rajouri | GoI accessing ground implementation of central schemes | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, OCT 25: To monitor Government of India schemes, the Centre has sent a team of experts in Rajouri Poonch to know the ground implementation and sought suggestions from rural population about some amendments in various schemes. Sources said that Government of India has constituted a team headed by Joint Secretary Rural Development Ministry, Government of India, R Raju to visit areas bordering Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch to access the ground implementation of various central sponsored schemes, especially Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme, Indira Awass Yogna, Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yogna and other schemes meant for rural development. The team also comprised of Joint Secretary, RD Ministry T Vijay Kumar and Rural Development Specialist Parmeet Shah reached Rajouri on Sunday late evening and interacted with the people. Before reaching Rajouri, sources said that the team members directly visited on zero line and interacted with the people of Sisal and Mangyote in Nowshera sector of Line of Control. The residents at Mangyote demanded de-mining of their fields besides demanding enhancement of wages on MGNREGS. Team was received at Sunderbani by Assistant Commissioner Development Subash Sharma. After reaching Rajouri, team interacted with local residents especially people of border areas and listen to their plights. They had invited atleast 120 invitees from every rural village of Rajouri and Poonch in the Dak Bunglow Rajouri to know the ground situation of central schemes. Assistant Commissioner Development, Rajouri, Subash Sharma said that Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja also briefed the team about the activities in rural areas and manage their meeting with the locals. He said that locals highlighted various issues in the meeting which included enhancement of wages in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, enhancement of days from 100 to 150 days a year and enhancement of grant in the Indira Awass Yogna. Subash Sharma said that the residents that the main motto of the team was to access the achievements of the central schemes in rural areas. He said that they received the team at Sunderbani from where they moved towards border areas where they met with the people. ACD said that the team was given detailed account of the schemes and they get feedback from the local residents. He added that people from all areas of Rajouri Poonch were invited to interact with this team. The team returned to Jammu after accessing the situation and visited various border areas.
