CA&PD squad conducts vigorous market check

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, OCTOBER 26 - A team of CA&PD Department comprising of Assistant Director (Enforcement) and Area Inspectors, headed by Deputy Director (S/EC), Ashok Kumar Pandita under the direction of Director, CA&PD Jammu, Mr. Parvez Malik conducted vigorous market checking.
About 16 defaulters were challaned under the violation of price display order /Essential Commodities Act 1955 & LPG Control Order 2000 and a fine to the tune of Rs.8000 was recovered.
In view of the forthcoming festivals in the month of October & November, the team inspected fruit and vegetables sellers, halwaiis, dhabhas, fast food vendors, restaurants etc at Janipura, Subash Nagar, Rehari, Roop Nagar, Talab Tillo and its adjoining areas. The fruit and vegetable retail sellers, Milk and Cheese sellers were directed to display price list at their shops at conspicuous places and not to indulge in overcharging from the consumers and curb use of domestic LPG cylinder for commercial purpose failing which action under law will be initiated against the defaulters.
