| Arrangements for Diwali discussed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA OCTOBER 26- To discuss the arrangements for coming Diwali festival, a meeting was convened by Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, M.S. Sheikh today.
Sheikh laid stress on the measures to be adopted for the selection of site and sale of fire crackers. He said that only after proper verification; the permission for sale of fire crackers and sites to sell crackers shall also be notified. He appealed to the people to avoid noise and smoke producing fire crackers and asked the hospital authorities to remain fully equipped with life saving drugs. He asked for provision of special emergency ward for patients with burn injuries.
On the occasion of ensuing festival, the ADDC asked the AD (CAPD) and Executive Office, MC`s, to check food items and send them for chemical analysis. Fire and Emergency services department was asked to make fire tending equipment ready on the strategic locations.
A committee was constituted for checking and monitoring the smooth conduct of festival. The committee comprises of ACR, Tehsildar, Kathua, DySP HQ, Station In charge Fire service services, Kathua, District Health Officer.
SSP Kathua was asked to ensure law and order and patrolling during the festive season.
The ADDC directed the concerned officer to ensure essential services to the people including cleanliness and sanitation in the bazaars. He directed the concerned officers to check the quality and prices of eatables.
ACR Kathua, Tehsildar Kathua, Med Suptd Kathua, AD Fire Services and other officers were present in the meeting.
