Indian Style Wrestling body organises At Home

KATRA, OCTOBER 26-To honour the official and non official personalities for their contribution in making the 6th Mission Dosti Rustam-E- Indo- Pak historic Wrestling competition a grand success, the Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style wrestling Association organised a felicitation function-cum-At Home at Katra, last evening.
MLA Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma was the chief guest while Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur- Reasi range, Gulzar Singh Slathia presided .
Appreciating the role of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in promoting the wrestling in Jammu and Kashmir in a big way, the MLA said that it was due to the dedicated efforts put in by the President of the Association and other agencies that 6th Indo- Pak Dangal concluded in a successful manner.
DIG, Udhampur-Reasi range, while speaking on the occasion complemented the organizers of the association for popularizing wrestling event, locally known as dangal in every nook and corner especially in the rural area to make younger generation aware about the tradition and heritage of our country.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Anand Jain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue,. Sukhdev Singh, Assistant Director Youth Services & Sports, Ashok Kumar, Retd. SP, Prithivi Raj Sharma, Mr. Rakesh Wazir, Advocate Kuldeep, Advocate Swatanter Dev Kotwal and Sher Singh also spoke on the occasion and lauded the efforts of President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma for making tireless efforts for the promotion of wrestling event.
The President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma expressed his gratitude to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, J&K Tourism Department, Navratra Festival Committee, Katra Municipal Committee, District Administration and locals for extending their active support for the successful conduct of 6th Mission Dosti Indo- Pak wrestling event.
Mission Dosti Rustam-E- Indo- Pak historic Wrestling competition was organised for the first time at Katra during 2005, Sharma said and added that event is being organised as part of Navratra festival to promote peace and brotherhood in this sub-continent by means of sports activities between the neighboring countries.
On the occasion, the chief guest also presented mementos to the officers and members of the different agencies for their outstanding contribution in recently concluded Indo- Pak Wrestling event at Katra.
Among Others, President Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra, Sham Lal Kesar, sports lovers and prominent citizens of Katra were present on the occasion.
