10/26/2010 10:10:44 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
REASI, Oct 26: Two-day mega cultural extravaganza organized by Natrang at the Higher Secondary School Lawns concluded here this evening with the staging of the play ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’.
Pandurang Pole, District Development Commissioner, Reasi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Written and Directed by Balwant Thakur, this new multi-lingual play of Natrang aims at seeking peace through effective participatory presentation of theatre. Over eight thousand people witnessed this highly engrossing mind-blowing play which Balwant Thakur has designed in such a manner that the audience identifies with its theme and presentation. The play begins with local problems and to make it much closer to the people, the situations and the characters are changed in every performance so the audience can very well find themselves in the play. The problems like gender inequality, alcoholism, over-population, domestic violence and the decay of human concerns were highlighted in the beginning and later a young-man emerges in the scene who represents the youth- the biggest work-force of the country. This Youngman wants to lead in the world. He also wants to be like the people of the most progressive nations of the world. Despite making all-out efforts he finds that he is unable to make any headway in the present circumstances. He is shattered by finding that people out here are engaged in petty fights initiated by the anti-nationals. Young minds are being infused with negative thoughts, thus ruining their life and career. The progressive nations have arisen above such small things. There is no space for hatred for each other. The boundaries are being broken and the nations are coming together to see the larger welfare of the mankind. But people out here are being exploited and pushed to a path of darkness for small petty political gains. The play concludes with the youth pledging to rise above small issues to touch new horizons.
