Dogri language participating in theater festival | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 27: Dogri is going to be the first regional language of India to participate in the 17th national theatre festival being held in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. This was informed here today by Natrang director Balwant Thakur in a press conference held here today. A twenty-two member group of artists of Natrang left today evening for Jabalpur to present their Internationally acclaimed Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’ to register new history for Dogri Language and Culture. Giving details about this rarest achievement, Balwant Thakur said that all this has been possible due to the ultimate excellence achieved by the Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’. Thakur said that people are now slowly realizing the fact that theatre is the only powerful medium of public awakening and can bring remarkable revolutionary changes in the society. He added that those who had left their own language and culture, inspired by this play are now realizing the importance of their cultural and linguistic identity. Balwant Thakur credited this to all those who supported Natrang endeavors in establishing Jammu as the ultimate cultural destination of the world. Team which left today for Jabalpur included, Suresh Kumar, Suraj Singh, Neeraj Kant, Sumeet Sharma, Dimple Sharma, Pawan Verma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Renu Sharma, Pankush Verma, Tajasvi Sharma, Sajara Qadir. Divya Kohli, Rahul Singh, Vikram Sharma, Ishfaq Anwar, Kuldeep Mehra, Suraj Ganjoo. Those who spoke on the occasion included Sumeet Sharma, the assistant director of Natrang.
