Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 27: To pay homage to the brave Dogra of the soil, Brig. Rajinder Singh, a function was organized under the leadership of district vice-president Karan Singh in Panjtirthi.
BJP former state president & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion. The portrait of Brig. Rajinder Singh was garlanded and floral tributes paid to him.
Ashok Khajuria, while paying tributes, delved on the developments taking place in the state under the soft approach towards the anti-national elements and separatists under appeasement policy of the state as well as central government as dangerous.
One concession after the other and one package after the other to Kashmir has encouraged a handful of people in the valley, who take it granted that they can make the Union government bow before them, he said.
He said the state has been passing through turmoil for the last 20 years due to across the border militancy sponsored by Pakistan. This proxy war has consumed thousands of innocent civilians and security forces personnel. The lack of will to check the militancy has demoralized the nationalist forces in the state.
Khajuria said that the state needs patriotic people like Brig. Rajinder Singh who played a very important role in defeating the nefarious designs of Pakistan over Kashmir in the Qabaili attacks in 1947. He demanded that this great Dogra should be decorated with Param Veer Chakra posthumously.
Karan Singh, while expressing in different attitude towards honouring the great persons who sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the nation, said that it is indeed unfortunate that those raising anti-India slogans and indulging in seditious activities, are given VVIP treatment and provided with categorized security at the cost of the hard earned Indian money.
He said that the Union government should shed its policy of appeasement and punish all such elements who work against the unity and integerity of the country. Right place for all such peoples is jail and they should be put there. He appealed the young generation in particular to take lesson from the life of Brig. Rajinder Singh and be ready for even sacrificing their lives for protecting the nation and its citizens.
