| J&K reserves seats for Women, Handicapped in passenger’s buses | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Government today ordered that reservation of seats for women and physically challenged persons shall be ensured in all passenger buses and Medium/Mini buses to make the travelling of these categories more comfort.
Accordingly all Stage Carriage permit holders have been enjoined upon to reserve specific seats in their vehicles. Such seats should be properly painted in white alphabet viz “Reserved for Women and Handicapped Persons” in Urdu and Hindi.
The reservation in big passenger buses from 1 to 12 seats and for Medium and Mini buses from seats 1 to 9 should be kept reserved for such categories, the order says adding that in case these categories are not travelling in such vehicles, the seats be allowed to be used by the normal passengers.
All the RTOs/ ARTOs and traffic police have been directed to ensure proper and effective implementation of this order.
