Trikuta College enters final to face MAM in final today

JAMMU, Oct 27: Beating the formidable side of Post Graduate (PG) Law and Sciences by 23 runs, Trikuta Degree College today sailed into the final of the inter-college cricket tournament underway at University of Jammu grounds, here.
Now, Trikuta College shall take on equally good Government MAM College in the final tomorrow at 9.30 pm.
Earlier, in the second semi-final, Trikuta College won the toss and decided to bat first they set a target of 159 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, PG Law and Sciences could not chase and bowled out for 135 runs.
Ankur Slathia was top scorer with 21-ball 32 runs while Satyajeet and Kunal contributed 26 and 21 runs respectively. From Law and Sciences, Sourav took two wickets, followed by Amit Baloria, Himanshu Sharma and Digvijay Singh with apiece each.
Batting second, the early loss of skipper, Amit Baloria’s wicket caused PG Law and Science a 23 runs defeat after whole side bowled out for 135 runs. Amit, who contributed 20-ball 40 runs hitting four sixes and two boundaries, had single-handedly led his side to victory in earlier matches.
Soruav was other main scorer with 22 runs in his account. Sachin was most successful bowler from Trikuta College with three for 19 in three overs. Shajad, Rohit and Kunal took two wickets each.
Today’s match was officiated by Vijay Dogra, Raj Kumar and Manu Khajuria (scorer).

Doubtful `Law’ stops play

Raising question over the eligibility of a member of the Trikuta College team, skipper of PG Law and Sciences, Amit Baloria called his batsmen out asking the officials concerned to look into the allegations.
However, finding the allegations baseless, the officials managed to convince the Law and Sciences team and resumed the match after a gap of 20 minutes. When the match was stopped, Law and Sciences were in need of 50 runs in five overs with four wickets in hand.
