Road map for settlement of 6th pay commission arrears approved | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 27:The cabinet approved road map for settlement of the arrears of the Sixth Pay Commission in respect of the employees of the State Government.
According to the cabinet decision 50 percent of the arrears that are due shall be settled by the State Government on its own. However, for the remaining amount, the matter shall continue to be pursued with the Government of India.
These arrears will be paid in varying number of installments and through the G P Fund route for different categories of employees which will have different lock-in periods for different categories, as:
Class-IV employees shall be paid in four equal annual installments of 25 percent each starting from 2011-12, with a lock-in period of three years for each installment.
Class-III employees shall be paid in five equal annual installments of 20 percent each starting from 2011-12 with a lock-in period of four years for each installment.
Class-II and I employees shall be paid in six annual installments starting from 2011-12. First five installments shall be of 15 percent each whereas the last installment shall consist of balance 25 percent, with a lock-in period of 5 years for each installment.
Pensioners shall be paid their dues in cash in three to six annual installments beginning from 2011-12, in relation to their categorization in different age-groups including 80 years and above three, 70 to 80 years four, 65 to 70 years five, 58 to 65 years six. |
