Deep sense of betrayal and anguish among public of Jammu : Lalit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 28: President, Dogri Sanstha, Lalit Magotra in his meeting with the visiting interlocutors conveyed deep sense of betrayal and anguish among the public of Jammu for discriminatory attitude of the Central as well as State Govts. He said that though the discrimination against Jammu is in every field including employment, education, development etc. but he cited few examples of discrimination in the fields of culture, literature and education. He pointed out that where as the Central University for Kashmir is functional for more than one year, the Central University sanctioned for Jammu, after a great struggle of the masses is yet to open his office and even the Vice Chancellor has not been appointed for the same. He told the interlocutors that the Central & State Governments instead of paying attention to remove discrimination against Jammu region have been rewarding all those elements who talk of separatism and who propagate hatred among the communities. This policy of the Centre has encouraged even the politicians of the mainstream parties to speak in separatists’ tones for their personal and petty interests whenever the occasion arises. He said that the young people being killed in the valley is a very tragic and is a human problem but demand for Azadi is not a human issue. There is a large number of young children who have been orphaned due to killings perpetrated by militants and terrorists. Their situation is as tragic as of those being killed during the demonstrations. He conveyed that the Centre must change its attitude towards the J&K State and give equal importance to all the three regions of the State.
