| NSUI celebrates Rashid Choudhary’s successful presidentship | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 28: To mark the occasion of two years of Abdul Rashid Choudhary,s successful presidentship of NSUI, J&K activists organized a “One Day Convention’ of delegates and unit presidents at NSUI State office , Jammu.
A large no of NSUI delegates and district, blocks, college unit presidents and state NSUI executive committee participated in the convention.
A large number of NSUI activists lead by Abyminu Jamwal, city president NSUI received Rashid Choudhary at Shahidi Cowk by garlanding him profusely. Later he was brought to the Congress bhavan in the shape of a procession. The activists danced to the tunes of drums beats and celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets to the students and general public.
Later, an impressive function was organised to at PCC office Congress Bahavan Jammu. Mangat Ram Sharma, senior vicepPresident PCC & ex Dy. CM presided over the function.
Addressing the gathering veteran Congress leader Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma in his presidential remarks described NSUI as the base of Congress party and this plays a crucial role in creation of leadership of the congress party. He described the two years of Dr. Rashid Coudhary’s tenure of NSUI president, as the best ever in the history of NSUI J & K. He said that now NSUI have become quite visible in its role and there is a need to make it stronger at the base.
Addressing the gathering Rashid Choudhary expressed his deep sense of gratitude and thanks to Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary AICC, In charge NSUI , Meenakshi Natrajan AICC Secretary, In charge NSUI and to Hibi Eden, National President NSUI, Saif ud Din Soz, President PCC J & K and Mohit Sharma National Secretary, In charge NSUI J & K for giving him full patronage and cooperation during the last two years.
Thakar Hari Singh, vice-president PCC, the chief guest on the occasion. Sardar Gurmukh Singh Vice President PCC,. Amolk Singh General Secretary PCC , ,Shiv Sharma president INTUC, Shoaib Lone president PYC, R.S.Pathania, vice president PYC, were the special guests on the occasion. Aswani Puri and. Manmohan Singh was the other prominent leaders present on the occasion.
