| JMC removes encroachments | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 28: Acting under instructions of S C Sawhney, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jammu, a joint exercise was undertaken by the Health and Enforcement Wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith police force to remove the encroachments made by the vegetable sellers at Vikas Nagar, Sarwal, Jammu.
During the removal of encroachments four temporary structures and five pacca platforms raised by vegetable sellers by encroaching upon the road and covering the Nahalla were demolished which was causing insanitary conditions much to the inconvenience of the residents of the area and to the passers by as well.
The Nahalla was cleared and about three truck load of garbage was removed by the team of Jammu Municipal Corporation and the free flow of the water was restored.
The public in general appreciated the action of the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Besides this, the revenue wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation realized Rs 38000 as trade tax from the shopkeepers in the areas of Bakshi Nagar, Masheshpura, Canal Road etc.
The Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to the shopkeepers to pay the trade tax to the Jammu Municipal Corporation well in time.
