WEF meet interlocutors | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 28: Women Empowerment Forum (WEF) president AnuradhaGoswami along with general secretary advoctae Jyoti met the team of Kashmir Interlocutors, here today. They presented the problems of Jammu region before the team and sought immediate redressal of all those. Goswami maintained that unemployment and corruption is the root cause of all problems in the state and hence needed immediate attention. She explained that schemes of women empowerment are only on the papers and women living in rural areas have not been benefited in any manner, which is also an impediment causing resentment among the women folk. She demanded that the upper age limit for government vacancies be enhanced upto 40 years as a one-time exception. Besides, effective steps are taken for facilitating benefits of women empowerment. She also demanded that menace of corruption be eradicated from all public offices with the appointment of people of high integrity on such chairs. However, Jyoti expressed that unnecessary questioning over the status of state's accession with the country must not be raked. Dilip Padgaonkar keenly listened to their points and noted all the suggestions. He assured Goswami that her views would be accommodated in his report. Besides, steps would be taken to redress the grievances of common masses in general and women in particular.
