Coalition can’t escape scrutiny for its crimes: PDP
10/28/2010 10:01:01 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 28: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that in its multipronged strategy of deceit, state government was using police to gag voice of dissent through draconian methods, the carrot of jobs to allure gullible and on political level, raise non-issues to divert attention from its gross failures.
In a statement, senior leaders of the party Moulvi Iftikhar Hussein Ansari and general Secretary Dillawar Mir said that people should not be misled by tactics designed to hide crimes of this government which among other things is guilty of murder of 111 Kashmiris most of them children and youth. Ruling dispensation will have to stand scrutiny of justice and history sooner or later, they cautioned.
Calling for a probe and strong action in the reports of attempted molestation in Palhalan in Pattan, leaders said that government was employing old National Conference tricks of running with the hare and hunting with the hound to retrieve its lost credibility and terrorize people into submission. NC-led coalition had employed its old tactics to silence the people and was surviving only through use of brute force.
PDP leaders said that Palhalan incident highlighted the misery inflicted by the government on peaceful citizens. While the young son of the family had been forced to run for his life, the female members were victimised for showing solidarity with him. This the leaders said was “Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani” in Kashmir, thanks to the licence given by the government to police and security forces to help its own survival.
