Crackers likely to increase air pollution | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: Like other states of country, pollution is increasing in the state of Jammu and Kashmir these days since use of fire crackers on different occasions is also one of the main contributors in the increase of air pollution in the state. Pollution is increasing on daily basis due to the carelessness of the citizens of the state as well as that of the administration, which has failed to fail keep a check on the pollutants and other pollution causing sources. It is pertinent to mention here that Diwali-a festival of crackers is round the corner, it will also contribute in polluting environment to a major extent. Even the marriage season is also going on these days. Use of fire crackers damages environment. Global warming is one of the major threats to the world due to air pollution. Pollution causes asthma, bronchitis, viral infections as well as eye and skin ailments. Doctors always instruct against using crackers. Bhupinder Singh- a senior citizen complained that bursting of crackers leads to health problems. He cautioned the children against the use of crackers. Dr Sanjeev Digra, said that the crackers bursting should be prohibited as the cracker smoke causes dreadful asthmatic diseases. He added that even small children are getting infected because of these diseases. He further said that noise pollution causes heart troubles especially to heart patients.
